Everyone is looking for job vacancies it seems. With the economy slowly in recovery, it's not surprising that more and more positions are opening up around the country. These openings are exactly what people need, but most are so dulled by months of not being able to find work that they just aren't able to get the job.




What do you need to do? First, keep looking in the usual spots. There are online job boards that frequently post new openings and these are an excellent place to look. You can usually subscribe to their RSS feed so you don't even have to worry about going to the URL each time.



Another good place to look is through classified ads. These may be old fashioned, but people still advertise there and they offer a lot of jobs through print publications. Take a look at the local paper or look at national ones online to get an idea as to what is available. These are usually free, so you can look anywhere in the country, or even abroad.



There are also services that you can sign up for which will deliver job openings to your email. While these may be useful, it's a good idea to research them first.



Are other people happy with them? How much is the monthly fee? In many cases you can find the same jobs elsewhere online, so you really need to decide if it's something that is worth your money, or if you prefer to spend the extra time looking for those same positions elsewhere?



Another option is to contact companies directly. If you have contacted them and left your resume with a cover letter, they may contact you at a later date when job vacancies become available. It's certainly worth a try and can't hurt to have your name in with several companies that you would enjoy working for.
